What makes MTOM different from other custom songwriting services?

The first unique aspect about MTOM is that we don't limit custom song requests to love songs. Many services place an emphasis on romantic relationships, weddings, etc. which is great! However, that's not everyone's story and MTOM is not afraid to write a song that reflects life; the good, the bad and everything in between. 

Secondly, we offer custom album art and  a custom webpage! Other services will print you a generic cd and/or simply email you the download link without a personal touch. Our album art design adds icing to the cake and makes your product all the more special. You won't find that any where else.

Last and most conveniently is our deposit and payment options. Most services will change hundreds of dollars and expect your cart to be paid in full before you even get a demo. That's before you can even tell if you're going to like the song. MTOM minimizes that risk for you by offering those options.

How does the custom songwriting process work?

Step 1: When you're ready for your custom song, simply go to our order page and fill out the form. 

Step 2: We will contact you via phone or email to set up a time and option for the custom song interview.

Step 3: During the interview, you will tell us about your story/situation/relationship/loved one. We'll ask questions to draw out details that we'll need for the song. If the interview is done over the phone, it'll most likely be recorded. That will provide us a reference to use when we start writing your song.

Step 4: After the interview, we will send you an invoice for the deposit (minimum $50). Once you pay your deposit that gives us the green light to start crafting your song. You will receive your demo within 5 to 7 business days for your approval. 

Step 5: Once you approve of your demo, we start working on the full production. We keep you updated on the progress of each step from the album art, to your webpage, etc. Once paid in full, we send you the final product of your approval, then your webpage will be live and your cd on its way!

How long will it take to receive my song?

The process to completion as at least a month. It could be longer or sooner, but that will all depend on what you want as far as production. We don't like to rush the craft, so if you're getting this as a gift for someone or for a special occasion it's best to give plenty of time and plan accordingly. 

What if I don't like the demo?

Each process is subject to your approval. So if you don't like the direction in which the song is going, simply let us know what changes you'd like to see and we'll make it happen!

Is there a payment plan option?

Technically yes. As mentioned above, your initial payment is a deposit. Once we get in contact with you, you're going to give us the due date. For example, if you want a song for your anniversary and it's three months away, then that sets the pace for the production of your song and when payment must be made in full. However, if you need something in a month, then a full payment will be expected sooner before you receive your final product. 

How long do I access to my webpage?

You will have access to your page for one year. If you would like access to your page each year after, we can maintain your page for just an additional $25 per year.

Who owns the copyrights to the song?

The songs copyrights belong the songwriter of MTOM. This is found in the Terms of Service. If you would like to negotiate writers share contributions to the song for potential commercial purposes, additional fees may apply. Should any particular song end up on the negotiation table for commercial exploitation, you will be contacted and given the opportunity to obtain writers share. But ultimately, the credit to the body of work belongs to the songwriter. It's Mona Lisa's face but the artist is Leonardo Da Vinci.

Can I use the song in my own way?

Absolutely! You have the right to use the song for any non-commercial purpose as stated according to the terms of service.
